On April 28, we learned from the "5G + Action Joint Press Conference" sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Government that the first 5G express distribution center in China will soon land in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, and open a new stage of digital upgrading of China's express logistics. It is reported that this project is jointly built by novice bird, China Unicom and Yuantong Express, which will greatly improve the efficiency and stability of automatic parcel sorting after completion.

Last year, rookie and Yuantong Express jointly built a super robot distribution center in Xiaoshan, using 350 robots to sort express delivery. During peak period, 500,000 express delivery can be sorted per day.

The newcomer, China Unicom and Yuantong Express are planning to launch the Super Robot Distribution Center upgrade plan within this year, becoming the first 5G Express Distribution Center in China. Upgraded, the logistics center can operate more stably and efficiently. Nowadays, the rookie network has many highly intelligent robotic warehousing and distribution centers. There are up to 700 robots working in the single warehouse at the same time.

According to the person in charge of rookie network, due to the limited speed of 4G, WiFi network is usually used to dispatch robots in the industry. However, WiFi network has a small coverage, needs to switch the network frequently, and there are some problems such as network instability and network delay, which affect the efficiency of the robot. These problems will be solved in the 5G era, and the operation of warehousing and distribution centers will be more stable and efficient.

In addition, in the 5G era, automatic driving can also develop from the intelligence of individual vehicles to the interaction between vehicles, roads and pedestrians. By installing induction devices on the road, the unmanned vehicle can receive the information of the road side directly when it reaches the relevant section, and then make a series of decisions, such as turning or going straight, to form a perfect vehicle-road coordination solution. This may accelerate the large-scale application of logistics unmanned vehicles.
